Livia Molinari got in 2003 a degree in Environmental Sciences at University of Parma and has worked for about 20 years at Valli S.p.A. which is an Italian company specialized in waste management. The plant collects sewage sludge, which is then inspected and verified on-site before being sent to treatment processes. Here, it is transformed into a renewable organic fertilizer. She holds the position of manager of the Office for Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) aspects and also takes care of the certification and technical-regulatory verification procedures of all operational phases of the production/supply chain. She participates, as an expert, in various international (e.g. ISO, International Standard Organization and CEN, European Committee for Standardization) and national (UNI, Italian National Standardization Body) activities and working groups on the development of technical standardization with particular reference to agricultural use of sludge/biosolids. She also participates in national and international conferences/events on the specific aspect of the use of organic products in agriculture and collaborates in the preparation of publications on that subject.
